I've long believed this grave's orientation with Wildwood (in the background) demonstrates Beckley's Federal-era upbringing in Washington.

Couldn't you or the city demolish that brown house so you could make it more like Washington?

Ironically, symmetry was what Alfred Beckley had planned. As the capitol in Washington looked out over the mall, as Versailles looked upon its gardens, his estate employed classical style, federal style, the New American style of the sons of the revolutionaries who inherited the father's lands. Approach, angles, view from cemetery-- all are planned.

So, again, couldn't the city demolish it?

Is it possible to buy out the current owners of the home(s) that block Wildwood? I'm sure the city wuld help with fundraising.
